The two party members looked at the general clad in blue and silver armor, with a blue cape flowing behind him. Colt stood close to Siguard. “That blue could look black in the shadow of the castle,” he whispered. Siguard sheathed his weapon and nodded.
“What are you two doing here?” Troforsect asked. He took a position in front of his two men. They ran back to the camp. Well one run back to camp, the other limply walked. “As up front as you two were here, I don’t think you two would be the vanguard of an assault to leave.”
Hounder barked with a fierce roar. “Hush, Hounder.” Colt snapped his fingers. He twirled his sword and sheathed it as well. “We are here to ask you a couple questions.”
“I see.” Troforsect spun back to his camp. “I don’t suggest I could get you to come back to my camp with me.”
“Not on my life!” Siguard said.
“This neutral location is best,” Colt said. “This is like the water hole for animals. A place they can all go and get what they all need before returning to the hunt.” He circles his hands around the area he stood in.
“What is it that you need?” Troforsect rested his hands on the hilt of his sword sabre.
“Do not play games with us!” Siguard took a step up. His armor clinked and clanked with the movement.
“I can assure I have no idea what you mean.”
“This is exactly your kind of tactic!”
“What is my tactic exactly?”
Siguard took a second step. Colt placed an ineffectual arm out to stop him. “In the hunt, often two animals can work together to take down a bigger foe.”
“So the dragon caused you trouble?”
Siguard scoffed. “Ha, the dragon was simple!”
“Then why are you here?”
“I find it more interesting that you aren’t taking this chance to kill us,” Siguard said. “I came expecting a fight.”
Troforsect let out his own boisterous laugh. “Oh you big fool I do not need to kill you now. You will kill each other if you haven’t started already!”
“What do you mean!?” Siguard pushes Colt’s arm away and took another number of clunky steps. “What do you know?”
“By you coming here then I can assume that one of your men in there is dead.”
“You did it,” Colt said.
“Me? Oh, only insofar that I hired someone to be my eyes and ears. I will reveal who that is for the king’s treasure.”
“I don’t follow.”
“The king has a lot of treasure. You want all of it?” Colt asked.
“We don’t have the storage for every golden spoon. No. There is a particular treasure that is said to be kept hidden. That treasure holds the key to taking over the continent.” Siguard and Colt just gave him a blank expressions in return. “You don’t know what I am talking about, do you?”
“Not particularly. No,” Colt said.
